It's been a busy month working with SCHOOL OF PROMISE and THE RIVER.  SOP had 68
kids in their summer ESL program, most of them Buddhist.  And The River had a great 3-day camp
and also an outreach concert for the local community.  I also did some interviews for them of people
with changed lives due to help from their ministry.  This week I made a trip up to Chiang Rai to seek
better services for my friend Ahoo, who is partly deaf and has slurred speech.

I am open to helping more groups, but lately have been very busy with those I already help! I am
happy to apply my skills to help these people be stronger in the Lord. With my experience as a
professional photojournalist, 20 years of freelance photo work, and expertise in video production, I
hope to help touch more hearts for Jesus,,, either with the donors back home, or with outreach tools
for local ministry in Asia.

I will be relying on funding from donors back in the USA. l ask for a stipend or donation from
the groups I work with, but most do not have a budget for Media... they rely solely on donated help.
Thank you for considering how YOU can help me, as I help these groups that are doing AMAZING
and LIFE-CHANGING work with the people of SE Asia!

Since July I have been helping the
School of Promise, a small Christian bilingual school that just
ending their second year of working with at-risk kids near Chiang Mai, Thailand.  (See ZOO TRIP
pictures under "Jan-Feb Photos" on the menu to the right.) I produced a You Tube video called
"What is this thing called Love?" for their website.  Click on the yellow type to watch the VIDEO.

My current project is doing a short "teacher recruitment" piece, and then  will be doing a longer one
for them, a more in-depth look at the home situations of some of the kids.
Please PRAY for this
school, they are really making a difference!

I've started helping an awesome ministry in Hang Dong, a suburb of Chiang Mai, called  The River.
They are a mission group with multiple ministries happening, from the far north of Thailand to the
far south.  We talked about me going down to the border of Malaysia and Thailand to an area
where there is rampant prostitution where they have a new ministry.  Most girls/women in the sex
industry are there by choice, but especially in this area, hundreds are FORCED to be there and are
very young. It's a dangerous place, but The River team has some good connections and wants me
to go down to get photos and videos. Meanwhile, see a page under APRIL photos for some work
I've done for them here in Chiang Mai area.

As you probably know, the vast majority of Missionaries rely on financial support from friends,
family, and churches "back home."
I am not sponsored by any church, only friends who believe in
the work I'm doing,,, that it helps people, and furthers God's Kingdom.
The last two years have been
amazing in how God has led me to a nice 3BR house, two outstanding roommates, three friendly
dogs, a sturdy old Toyota pick-up truck, some wonderful friends, and a great church to attend.

As far as regular commitments go, my budget is only $1450 a month, but I am about $300 short of
that at this time.  Thank you if YOU can help me to be full time as a Missionary in this far-off land.

Even $25 a month goes a long way here!

And I sure do need a lot of prayer to be doing this. Write me if you'd be serious about praying for
me. (I send out a special prayer email to about 30 people.)

You can check out more of my photos below, and also in the menu on the right.  Please drop me a
line if you have any questions or comments.

Make it a great day... God Bless You!

I am hopefully coming to USA for
a visit in late June to early
August!
If you can help with
donations toward a plane ticket,
that would sure help.
It'll have to
be  "God-thing" this year 'cause I
don't have the money, but I'm
planning to go!

An old friend has offered to
donate some funds so I can
attend my high school reunion in
Atlanta, Georgia on July 13/14.
So if you are in that area I look
forward to a visit with you!

You can contact me at:

And please consider a DONATION
to help
DigitalMission do a great
job.  I do have a 501(c)(3) you can

I'm still about $300 short on my

get a special gift every few
months, so a special thank-you
goes out to you folks

Hello! My name is Robert Bowling.  I am a Media Consultant and Missionary from Portland, Oregon...
now living in SE Asia.  On these pages you'll find information and photos on my current projects as
well as the best of my older work.  I've worked for three newspapers as a Photojournalist and
travelled to 31 countries. I've worked for Northwest Medical Teams in Romania, Albania Health Fund
in Albania, Young Life in Italy, taken five trips to Thailand to help folks working with tribal people, and
worked in Panama on the motion picture,
End of the Spear.  CLICK on the links on the upper right to
view my article about working on the movie set, and also my newspaper article about Holocaust
survivor, Alice Kern, and our trip to Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen.  It won "Best Feature Story" from
the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association in 1999!
